This
plant has fragrant yellow flowers. It has elongated
capsules filled with small black seeds containing the
oil. The entire evening primrose is edible. The
roots are eaten, either pickled or boiled as vegetables.
The young shoots can be added to salads.
It is an anticoagulant. It reduces high blood pressure,
prevents heart attacks and guards against coronary artery
disease.
Evening primrose oil can be used on dry and flaky
