Fenugreek
or methi is a green, leafy vegetable which acts as a
wonder drug for diabetics and patients of high cholesterol
and hypertension. It is rich in iron, manganese, vitamin
A, E and B complex.
Even methi seeds are very good for health and are known
to cure diabetes. They perform the important task of
dissolving fats and reducing the harmful effects of
sugars in the human body. They are used in pickles.
They also act as a preservative.
Fenugreek is a blood purifier and strengthens the
bones and teeth.
- Clean and chop a few bunches of methi leaves. Add
a few grated onions and radishes and mix in flour.
Knead into dough after adding salt, jeera, amchoor
and garam masala. Use this dough to make chapattis
and paranthas. In winters, it gives warmth and energy
and gears you up to face the cold.
- Methi leaves can be used as additives while cooking
potato, carrot, radish and peas.
- Methi is good for the skin. It cures respiratory
disorders and stomach ailments. It is good for acidity
and gastric disorders.
