papaya, cure for acidity, good for diabetes, cholesterolContains vitamin A and E. it is light on the stomach and an excellent cure for acidity. It is recommended to patients of diabetes and cholesterol as it is low on calories and improves blood circulation. People suffering from gastric disorders and loss of appetite can safely have mashed papaya to give them energy and nutrition. For taste, a bit of sugar can be added to mashed papaya. Very old people can also have this fruit as it is soft, easily digested and tones up the muscles.

It is very beneficial for the cure of acne, pigmentation and sallow skin. Nowadays many manufacturers of herbal cosmetics are using papaya as a popular ingredient in face creams, packs and face scrubs.

  • Take 2 slices of papaya and mash them. Add a few drops of rose water. Use 2 tsp. of besan or Fuller's earth to make a soft paste. Apply on the face and neck. Wash off with cold water when dry. This pack removes blemishes. It gives the complexion a healthy, lustrous glow.
  • Peel and cut a papaya into small cubes. Add a spoon of lemon juice and a dash of sugar. Place in a bowl and pour about 250 gm of smooth curd over it. Makes a good dessert and is highly recommended for stomach ailments.
