It flushes out toxins from the body and removes stomach and intestinal infection. Regular intake improves blood circulation. It keeps digestive system regulated and clean. Radish is highly beneficial as it adds the much needed roughage to your diet. Radish is so easy to digest that it is prescribed for jaundice patients. Radish can be crushed and taken in the form of juice. It is a vital ingredient in any salad dish.

Even the leaves of radish are very nutritive as they contain a lot of iron, manganese and calcium. Radish is good for the bones and strengthens the teeth and gums. It is also the dieters delight as it is low on calories. Anybody trying to lose weight can merrily chew on radish. It gives the feeling of fullness without adding calories. Radish acts as an efficient stress buster. It reduces stress, tension and tiredness. It is good for the treatment of cough and asthma.

It brings a shine to the face and skin and removes blemishes and dryness.

  • Grate 5-6 large radishes and a small piece of ginger. Add salt and 4-5 finely chopped green chillies. Eat as salad with lunch. Avoid having radish just before going to bed as it may cause flatulence.
  • Grated radish can be used to stuff chapattis. It can also be used to garnish. Along with its green leaves and stalks, it can also be prepared as a vegetable to go with rice and chapattis.
  • Radish juice can be had as a substitute for lemon juice. Add a pinch of salt for taste.
